Employee Handbooks: Review and/or update current personnel policy or handbook or create a new one.  A good, clear handbook promotes understanding and provides the basis for fair administration of company policies and practices. 

Compensation Practices:  Establish a fair and competitive wage and salary program based on surveys of the local job market, and salary ranges with guidelines for administration related to performance and contribution to the company.

Job Descriptions: Set up job descriptions that comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and establish the basis for performance measurement.

Performance Management Programs:  Select performance appraisal, determine criteria for ratings, and incorporate it into the administration of a merit pay or incentive/bonus system.

Employee Relations:  Serve as an advisor to supervisors in the area of employee relations, motivation, coaching, counseling and discipline (and in extreme cases, termination), conduct employee opinion surveys, aid in the submission of the Best Place to Work application.

Recruitment and Hiring:  Set up specifications for hire, select questions for interviewing, run advertisements for positions, conduct screening of candidates, and complete reference and background checks.  Conduct Orientations for new employees and set up Affirmative Action Plans.

Employee Benefits: Analyze your current benefits program and make recommendations for improvements in design, administration and providers, make market comparisons, and control costs through effective vendor selection and management.

HR Risk Assessment:  Review current HR policies and practices to be sure they are in compliance with applicable legal requirements; make recommendations for changes/improvements, if needed.
